We make learning tennis simple and fun.
Our Junior Program "Hot Shots" Explained:
Tennis Hot Shots is tennis for kids! The program is designed to help every child, no matter their age or ability. The courts are smaller and the equipment is modified, with smaller racquets and low compression balls that don’t bounce too high. These sessions are about having casual fun, so they’re less structured than traditional coaching sessions.
Red Ball / Age 4-8years
The Red stage is for beginners. The ball is larger than a normal tennis ball and doesn’t bounce as high, making it easier for even the youngest players to hit it comfortably. The courts and nets used in the red stage are much smaller and the goal is to learn tennis basics and to develop confidence on court. However above all we want that everyone has heaps of fun and enjoys playing Tennis!! Lessons are only 30min long.
Orange Ball/ Age 8-10years
After mastering the Red stage, children move on to the Orange stage where the ball bounces a little higher and faster and the court is a bit bigger. Each lesson teaches new strokes, skills, and strategies using techniques that allow easier understanding and rapid progression with an emphasis still on having fun and enjoying tennis!! Lessons are 45min long.
Green Ball / Age 10-12years
This more advanced group lesson uses a full court and a green tennis ball. This ball bounces higher and faster than the orange ball and the goal of these lessons is to consolidate technique and swing patterns, strategy & to develop physical skills. The lessons are either 45 or 60min long.
Group Lessons/ Age 12+years
Once your child is old enough and has all required skills developed from our ANZ Hot Shots Program we offer Group lessons. These lessons focus on the correct foundations for continual and accelerated development, with a larger focus on tactics, point play and fitness. At this stage normal pressured Tennis Balls are introduced and the lesson is at least 60min long. In addition we offer Squad Group sessions which are for our advanced players and usually 60 or 90min long.
